1) Preparation before operation
1. Operators should be neatly dressed, well-groomed, wash hands, and wear masks and hats.
2. Inform the patient of the purpose, precautions, methods and coordination skills of the operation, and instruct the pregnant woman to empty her bladder.
3. Assessment: gestational age, blood pressure, uterine height, abdominal circumference, psychological status and level of understanding.
4. Before monitoring, check whether the monitor is operating normally and prepare supplies such as fetal heart rate monitor and auxiliary devices, coupling agent, and toilet paper.
2) Precautions during operation
1. Close doors and windows, shield pregnant women, and adjust the room temperature.
2. Bring supplies to the pregnant woman and check with her. Assist the pregnant woman to lie in a semi-recumbent and supine position, expose the abdomen, and determine the position of the fetal back by palpation.
3. Turn on the power and turn on the monitor switch.
4. Apply coupling agent, use the fetal heart rate probe to find the strongest point of the fetal heart rate, and fix it.
5. Give the fetal movement button to the pregnant woman and ask her to press the fetal movement button when she feels the baby is moving.
6. Turn on the tracing switch and observe the fetal heart rate display, as well as the fetal heart rate and uterine contraction curve tracings.
7. Monitor for 20 minutes. Depending on fetal heart rate, fetal movement and monitoring conditions, decide whether to extend the monitoring time.
8. Pay attention to whether the paper feeding of the instrument is normal, whether the tracing lines on the drawing are continuous, and during the monitoring process, pay attention to whether the pregnant woman has any discomfort.
3) Disposal after operation
1. After monitoring, remove the monitoring probe. Wipe the belly of pregnant women and help them get into a comfortable lying position.
2. Make the bed unit.
3. Take off the custody record paper and fill in the date, time, bed number, and name.
4. Turn off the monitor switch, unplug the power supply, and return the fetal heart rate monitor to its original position.
5. Wash hands and record.
